Article Submission Guidelines

Thank you for considering the submission of an article or story to NY Firefighters Now Magazine. We welcome article submissions from any source that is a nonfiction article that may be of interest to fire fighters including ‘close-call’ stories, remembrances, articles concerning new products and services for fire safety, health and wellness, finance, legal updates and considerations, and other interesting topics.

- Articles must be typed and e-mailed in Word (Windows) format to: mailto: nyfirefightersnow@gmail.com
- Articles should have headlines, and when appropriate – should have subheads when in excess of 500 words.
- Extensive footnotes and references should not be used.
- Articles can range from l00 to 2,500 words.
- A brief biography (three to five lines) should accompany the article(s), and authors should include their name and title as they would like to see it in the magazine.
Photos and Art Specifications:
- Photos, charts, graphs, and other illustrations to accompany articles are strongly encouraged, but not mandatory.
- Photos can be either color or black and white. They should be clear and focused.
- Photos should come with captions, or some sort of identification.
Deadlines:
- The magazine is put together two months before publication. For example, in April, we are working on the June issue; please take that into account when submitting copy or photographs.
- NY Firefighters Now does not pay for articles, but does provide a complimentary copy of the issue in which the article appears.
